Gulf War undiagnosed illness
Deadline. The presumptive period for Gulf War chronic undiagnosed illnesses — chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, functional GI disorders, and medically unexplained chronic multisymptom illnesses — has been extended to December 31, 2026. If you served in the Gulf War theater (1990–present) and have symptoms that manifested by end of 2026, you still qualify for the presumption. After that date, the claim becomes a far harder direct service connection fight.
